Darrell Kindley is a committed professional with decades of experience in the aerospace industry.
Darrell Kindley was first introduced to the aerospace industry while working at Braniff Airlines during college. After graduating he took a job in 1985 as a Test Engineer with Singer Link Flight Simulation.
He then joined Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in 1987 where he spent the next eighteen years and retired as Senior Manager. Darrell worked on various aircraft programs including the F-111, F-16, KF-X, and F-35. In this final role, he was responsible for leading a 30-plus person team that specialized in the development, production, and integration of Electronic Warfare, and Computer and Display System components. During his time at Lockheed Martin, Darrell was instrumental in several proposal activities with one worth more than $6 billion, and managed more than 50 new avionic product developments.
In late 2005, he joined Bell Helicopter where he served as the Air Vehicle Director on a major helicopter development program, leading a 250 person team. In this position, he spearheaded the efforts to design, build, and integrate the new Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH) for the U.S. Army.
Darrell Kindley went on to serve as Vice President of the Program Management Office (PMO) at FLIR Systems, Inc. in 2007. In this capacity, he was responsible for managing the execution of the company’s Government Systems Programs in both the Boston and Wilsonville, Oregon facilities. In 2010, he was promoted Vice President & General Manager at FLIR and relocated from the Oregon corporate headquarters to manage the Boston Operations Division.
Darrell Kindley holds a BSEET from Devry University, where he was the Valedictorian of his class, and an MBA with focus in Engineering Management from the University of Dallas. Additionally, he attended the executive education program at the Wharton School of Business.
Darrell Kindley currently serves as the President of Apache Enterprises LLC, a Dallas-Based company specializing in the design and manufacture of lighting solutions and structures for military and commercial aircraft, and the President and CEO of Ace Aeronautics, LLC.
During his time as an executive, he has successfully driven growth and shareholder value via strategic planning, execution, and forming of strong customer relationships. He has proven his ability to maintain and improve margins regardless of market conditions, negotiate winning proposals both in the US and abroad, and resurrect struggling programs and business units.
As President of Apache Enterprises, Darrell Kindley has secured record backlog and won numerous strategic programs with new customers on new aircraft platforms. Under his leadership the company has experienced over 25% top line growth and over 200% bottom line improvement. Darrell is now actively engaged in leading the mergers and acquisitions vision for Apache Enterprises.
Outside of his career, Darrell is heavily involved with the sport of Drag Boat Racing. He was an active racer from 2006 until 2011, finishing as high as third on the national Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series (LODBRS) circuit. Additionally, he loves to golf, and is an avid hunter. Darrell enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, who runs the quilting and lifestyle blog, creativegypsy.me, and with his talented children.
